Lossless Audio

Strato movie players provide lossless audio, maximizing sound quality with a range of downstream components. Strato supports multichannel and spatial audio codecs including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Kaleidescape’s lossless audio makes your processor, amplifiers, and speakers sound the way the director intended. The dialogue is clearer, and every subtle sound and rumble draws you deeper into the story.

Reference 2K Video

High-fidelity output. Strato M plays 4K movies in standard dynamic range, HDR10, and Dolby Vision, with BT.2020 and 4:2:2 chroma, making reference 2K video output look sharper, with more accurate color fidelity.

Downloaded, Not Streamed

Movie bitrates up to 100 Mbps. Kaleidescape movies are high bitrate and downloaded to local storage for uninterrupted, flawless playback. There is never buffering or degradation, unlike streaming services that are limited by internet infrastructure.

Kaleidescape movies are also unconstrained by file size limits, enabling our content team to maximize the video quality transcoded from studio mezzanine files, unlike Blu-ray discs that have a maximum file size limit.

Standalone

Kaleidescape’s lowest cost of entry. When standalone, Strato M stores about a half-dozen high-bitrate movies on an internal, solid-state drive. Strato M features the same streamlined interface as Strato V, optimized for navigating a small movie library.

Strato M can download a Kaleidescape movie in minutes over gigabit Ethernet. Downloads become a candidate for automatic deletion 48 hours after playback, making room for more movies. Purchased movies can be re-downloaded at any time.

Scalable

An investment that grows with you. Want room for more movies or players in additional rooms? Unlock the full Kaleidescape experience by grouping Strato with Terra Prime movie servers. Add Strato V to primary viewing areas and Strato M to ancillary spaces, like kitchens or bedrooms. Any number of Strato movie players can be grouped into a system, with up to four servers per system.

Grouping with a movie server activates the iconic Kaleidescape covers view and list menus for navigating large movie libraries. It also unlocks Kaleidescape’s parental control settings and proprietary child remote, for a customizable family-friendly experience.

Viewing Distance

For theaters or living rooms where your viewing distance is approximately 1.5x the size of the screen in inches (or farther), the Strato M’s 2K video output will work for your space. For anything closer than that, you may want to consider a Strato V for its stunning 4K video output.

Installation Made Easy

Strato M can easily be tucked behind a TV or placed on a shelf. For a more customized installation, official Kaleidescape rack shelves and wall mount solutions are available.
