REL Acoustics T/9x Subwoofer
Powerful, Precise Bass. Pure REL Musicality.
The REL Acoustics T/9x delivers the dynamic authority, speed, and musical refinement that make a great subwoofer an essential part of a high-performance audio system. Combining a 300-watt Class A/B amplifier, a 10-inch long-throw active driver, and a 10-inch down-firing passive radiator, the T/9x produces deep, articulate bass that brings greater scale and realism to both music and home theater.
As the flagship of REL's Serie T/x range, the T/9x is engineered to deliver substantial low-frequency output without sacrificing the clarity, timing, and natural integration that distinguish REL subwoofers. Its carefully refined driver suspension, increased cabinet volume, and high-current amplification work together to provide greater dynamic expression and control.
Whether you're listening to acoustic recordings, large orchestral works, electronic music, or cinematic soundtracks, the T/9x adds weight, texture, and physical presence while preserving the character of your main loudspeakers.
A 10-Inch Driver Engineered for Speed and Control
The T/9x features a 10-inch FibreAlloy long-throw active driver with an inverted alloy center cap and rigid steel chassis. The lightweight cone and refined suspension are designed to deliver rapid response, excellent control, and the dynamic capability needed for demanding musical passages.
A matching 10-inch down-firing passive radiator extends low-frequency performance while allowing the system to deliver substantial output from a relatively compact enclosure.
With an in-room low-frequency extension rated to 27 Hz at -6 dB, the T/9x adds convincing depth to music and movie soundtracks alike.
300 Watts of Class A/B Amplification
REL retains its proven 300-watt Class A/B amplifier architecture in the T/9x, combining substantial current reserves with refinements to the output devices and mechanical construction.
Rather than pursuing bass output alone, the amplifier and driver system are designed to preserve speed, transparency, and dynamic nuance. The result is bass that can be powerful when the recording demands it, yet subtle enough to reveal the texture and decay of individual notes.
REL High-Level Connection: Integration That Sounds Natural
One of REL's defining features is its High-Level connection, which connects the subwoofer to the speaker outputs of a compatible power amplifier or integrated amplifier.
By receiving the same amplified signal that drives the main loudspeakers, the T/9x can integrate naturally with their tonal character and timing. The High-Level input draws negligible current from the amplifier, allowing the subwoofer to work alongside the main system without functioning as an additional speaker load in the conventional sense.
For systems with dedicated subwoofer outputs, the T/9x also provides RCA Low-Level and LFE inputs, making it suitable for stereo and home-theater applications.
Wireless Flexibility Without Digital Compression
For installations where running a cable is inconvenient, the T/9x is compatible with REL's optional Arrow wireless system. REL's wireless technology is designed to transmit the signal without digital audio compression, offering a flexible alternative for positioning the subwoofer in the room.
The Arrow system is sold separately.
Refined Design for High-Performance Systems
With its gently rounded cabinet corners, premium lacquer finishes, and carefully proportioned enclosure, the T/9x complements a wide range of high-end audio components and interiors.
Available in Piano Black, Gloss White, and Grey configurations, it offers an attractive combination of understated styling and serious bass capability.
For dedicated two-channel listening, the T/9x can provide the foundation for a more complete presentation, adding body to stand-mounted loudspeakers and greater scale to full-range systems. In home theater, its dynamic capability adds impact and weight to low-frequency effects without abandoning the musical finesse that defines the REL approach.
